Greg Taylor desperate for Adam Idah Celtic transfer stay as Kyogo factor and big moments highlighted

Greg Taylor insists he’ll be in Adam Idah’s ear to keep the outstanding striker at Celtic.

Idah’s dramatic last-gasp winner sank Rangers and saw Celtic complete a double with their Scottish Cup Final win. It was the Republic of Ireland forward’s ninth and most crucial goal since joining the club on loan from Norwich in January. Taylor admits he’ll be trying to persuade Idah to stay and said: “I certainly will be, definitely.

“He’s been outstanding, with some massive contributions in games and I’m really proud of him. It’s important to remember he’s still a young guy. He just needed a fresh start. He’d been at Norwich a long time and had done really well but this has given him that fresh start and I’m sure he’d be keen to stay.

“He’s scored goals in some big moments and it’s also pushed Kyogo, who has gone to another level again since Adam came in. Adam’s been outstanding, his goals have been outstanding, so the two of them have made big, key contributions. I’m really proud of them both.

“When teams go man-to-man and are pressing you high, look at Kilmarnock the other week, he gives another option and another layer to our game. It’s not about going long, more that Adam’s hold-up play is one of his strengths. Him and Kyogo really complement each other. They are both top players in their own right.

“He [Idah] is still really young. Just because he has that presence, it’s easy to forget that. He’s really enjoyed his time here and I’m sure he would be keen to stay.”
