Greg Hardy: Former UFC & NFL star set for pro boxing debut

Greg Hardy is set to make his professional boxing debut later this year after being released by the UFC.

Throughout the course of his athletic career, Greg Hardy has been down a lot of different paths – including basketball, shot put and sprinting in his youth.

Beyond that, though, he’s best known for his stint in American football as well as his time with the Ultimate Fighting Championship.

His controversies outside of the NFL led to him being viewed as something of a villain in the UFC, with many fans tuning in to see the 33-year-old get his comeuppance.

Now, they won’t be able to do so after the promotion released him earlier this year and prompted Hardy to venture into pro boxing.

It’s something he’s spoken about extensively before with the ex-Carolina Panthers defensive end once suggesting he could take on the likes of Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder.

As per MMA Junkie, he’ll get the chance to begin that road to the top as he gears up for an October 8 debut with Black Sheep Promotions.

The report indicates that the bout will take place in Florida, although as of this writing, there’s been no official confirmation regarding an opponent or how many rounds the contest will be.

Either way, you can bet that folks will be tuning in to see what happens to the ‘Prince of War’.
