Greater Manchester weekend weather: Warm and dry until showers on Sunday

This weekend, Manchester is set for a largely dry but warm weekend — before rain comes in to start next week off with damp.

Today (Saturday, September 16), the city will largely see sunny spells with clouds gathering as the day goes on, according to the Met Office. Temperatures will remain at 18C for most of the day, occasionally tipping up to 19C as the daily high.

The low will be a very mild 15C, although winds of more than 10mph across the day means there will be a light breeze, keeping things fresh. It’s a similar story on Sunday.

The high will be slightly warmer, at 21C. The low will also be slightly higher than Saturday, at 16C. Similar breezes will keep the day feeling fresh.

However, at 6pm, meteorologists are predicting rain will come to Manchester, which will develop into heavy rain at 9pm. That then provides the setting for Monday, which will be damp to start with.

It’s a similar picture across Greater Manchester, with the Met Office’s predictions for Oldham, Wigan, Bolton, Rochdale, Stockport, Bury, Tameside, Trafford, and Salford mirroring those of Manchester’s.
