Greater Manchester weather forecast for week ahead after Storm Otto hits UK

Storm Otto battered parts of the UK this weekend, bringing strong winds and heavy rain.

Though the storm mostly bypassed our region, strong gusts still hit Greater Manchester with a yellow weather warning issued for places on the outskirts. Next week, forecasters predict weather conditions will be a lot more settled.

According to the Met Office, most days will be cloudy and overcast in our region. Temperatures will reach highs of around 12C at the start of the week, before dipping to an average of around 7C later on.

Here is the current weather forecast for next week in our region, up to Saturday:

Monday will be a mostly overcast day in our region. Temperatures will reach highs of 12C in the afternoon, with lows of around 10C. Wind gusts will reach 24mph in the afternoon.

More cloudy conditions are forecast for Tuesday. Highs of around 11C are forecast.

Forecasters predict there may be some light showers on Wednesday morning, though conditions are expected to turn cloudy into the afternoon. The mercury will reach a high of around 8C.

Thursday is set to be another cloudy day, with some sunny spells forecast for the morning. Temperatures will reach a high of around 8C.

According to the Met Office, conditions will be overcast in our region on Friday. The mercury will reach 9C in the afternoon.

Saturday is set to be another overcast day. Temperatures will dip, with the mercury only reaching highs of around 7C.
