LIVE Greater Manchester school closures with over 25 shut in Oldham and Rochdale after heavy snow falls
A number of schools across Greater Manchester are shut today after snow blizzards hit the region overnight.
Multiple schools in Oldham and Bury have already announced they will be shut today due to the 'adverse weather conditions'. More schools are expected to announce closures throughout the morning as roads remain closed across the region due to the thick snowfall.
Schools that have said they will be shut today so far include Woodlands Primary Academy and Newman Catholic College in Oldham .Woodhey High School in Ramsbottom will also be closed.
More light snow showers are expected to fall across some parts of Greater Manchester this morning, with more disruption expected. A Met Office amber snow warning for parts of Greater Manchester and across the Pennines remains in place until 12pm today.
A yellow warning for snow also remains in place until 2pm.
