Greater Manchester officially has the UK's second best gaming arcade - and it's amazing

Anyone who's been to Arcade Club Bury knows how good it is, but now it's officially been ranked number two in a list of the UK's top 10.

Researchers looked at everything from time spent in the arcades, to Google reviews and even distance from public transport when putting the list together.

Arcade Club Bury ranks second behind Arcade Club Leeds and has an average time of 3.25 hours spent in the arcade, and more than 12,000 monthly searches on Google, where it has a review score of 4.8 out of five.

Manchester's 1UP gaming bar in Didsbury takes the eighth spot in the list, put together by VegasSlotsOnline.

We featured Arcade Club Bury just last month when we reported how it's attracting quite some attention on the film and TV circuit.

The beloved arcade, which is actually the biggest in Europe, played a key part in the newly released Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire movie with two of its machines featuring in it after they were requested for the set.

Star Castle and Missile Command were chosen specifically to add an authentic touch of the 80s to the movie, which stars Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard and Mckenna Grace.

And, earlier this year, the club, which is based over four floors in Ela Mill, was chosen as a major filming location for Netflix's number one show Fool Me Once, starring Michelle Keegan.

Since opening in 2015, the club has become a sanctuary for gamers and nostalgia seekers alike and is often packed with players of every age.
