Graeme Souness warns Ange faces miserable Tottenham existence

Graeme Souness reckons Tottenham without Kane equals a 'miserable' scenario for Ange Postecoglou and that it puts them at risk of being a mid-table team.

And it looks like the Aussie will lost his star man to the Bundesliga giants imminently, as reports suggest the Spurs record scorer is closing in on a transfer to Munich that could see Tottenham net over £80million. Former Celtic boss Postecoglou is said to be keen on a 'swift resolution' either way, after holding talks with the 30-year-old hitman upon his arrival in North London. The 57-year-old is now reportedly looking at alternatives ahead of his crunch Premier League opener against Brentford next month.

Souness, however, is surprised Daniel Levy and Co haven't majorly pushed the boat out to keep the England international who, without his goals return, would be a mid-table side in his estimation. The Rangers hero reckons the pull of Germany will be too much for Kane to turn down, especially with the chance to enter the twilight stage of his career with trophies in the cabinet, something his lengthy Spurs spell hasn't offered.

He told the Sky Bet Fan Hope Survey: “They should be offering Harry Kane a new four-to-five-year contract. Harry's the type of player whose game isn’t just based on athleticism or pace. He's got a great football brain and great technique as we see he drops off and picks a pass and he's got a knack of being in the right place at the right time.
