Graeme Souness leaves darts star stunned as Rangers legend hits the bullseye and asks for cheeky prize

Graeme Souness hit the target more than a few times in his playing career at Rangers and Liverpool.

But the 70-year-old still has the eye for a bullseye after being invited to approach the oche with former PDC Champion Rob Cross and throw a few arrows ahead of the action getting started at Ally Pally at December 15. Reigning champ Michael Smith will begin the defence of his title during the pre-Christmas period in the sport's flagship event, but Souness icon turned his hand momentarily to the arrows.

And while receiving a pep talk from Englishman Cross about how best to control his flight, the pundit hit a perfect bullseye on his second throw and turned to the group cheering him on and shouted: 'I don't know why you're surprised'. There had been reports Souness would be involved at Ibrox in a role among the club chiefs after being drafted in by James Bisgrove and chairman John Bennett to conduct negotiations that led to Philippe Clement's appointment as manager.

The Liverpool hero may have fancied former Chelsea boss Frank Lampard as the standout contender for the job, but got his wish in front of the dart broad in a clip shared on X.

Souness poses for a photo with Cross after his top shot and can be heard saying: "Is it two weeks in Barbados did you say (the prize)."
