Graeme Souness and Ian Wright disagree on Alejandro Garnacho as Man United challenge set

Graeme Souness and Ian Wright had their say on Alejandro Garnacho ahead of Manchester United's clash against Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday afternoon. The 19-year-old winger has been enjoying an excellent vein of form recently, establishing himself as a regular in Erik ten Hag's side.

Garnacho, who sees his contract at Old Trafford expire in 2028, has featured 26 times in the Premier League this term, scoring five goals and providing three assists. His impressive performances have given Manchester United a huge boost to their hopes of securing Champions League qualification.

Ahead of the Red Devils' tie against Liverpool, Garnacho won his side two penalties against Everton – both of which were converted to secure a 2-0 win and three crucial points. Speaking on ITV, Graeme Souness was very complimentary of the Argentina international.

"He's direct, he wants to get at you immediately and back you up into the box," said the Liverpool legend. "Last week he got two penalties - he's a threat and he is only a boy but I think he is a little bit too theatrical.

"He shoots, holds his head and it's like 'wow...' He's a player in the making," added Souness. Wright then weighed in on the discussion: "It's passion, man. It's passion and emotion," he said in response to the comments on Garnacho being 'too theatrical'.
