God of War: Ragnarok - Huge number of accessibility options revealed

God of War: Ragnarok is going to be one of the biggest launches on next-generation consoles when it eventually hits shelves.

The sequel to the wildly successful God of War was first released in 2018 and Ragnarok has been in development for a number of years.

It was initially set to release in 2021 but was delayed due to the onset of COVID, and has now been delayed until 2022.

We aren’t quite sure exactly when it is set to release on PS5 but a new report from Gamerant has detailed just how many accessibility features are going to be included in Ragnarok.

Per the report, the game is set to be Sony’s featured title for the Christmas period later this year.

In a new blog post, the game’s Lead UX Designer, Mila Pavlin, has dived into the details of exactly what can be expected when it releases.

Ragnarok has a remarkable 60 different accessibility settings that can be adjusted or modified.

That includes things such as Auto Sprint, Aim Style, options to help reduce motion sickness, while there have been improvements made to both captions and subtitles and text colour.

The in-game sound can also be modified to come up as text, while speaker names can either be shown or hidden dependant on what’s required. Captions can also be changed to assist with puzzles and plot understanding.

Players are also capable of allowing colours to be applied to in-game targets, characters and enemies, helping make certain items more visible in the game.

It is a mightily impressive suite of options, and there is a pledge within the blog post that there is even more to come in the future.

Gaming should be for everyone.
