Goalkeeper's firm Manchester City future vow after signing new contract during Bolton loan

James Trafford believes he has a chance to make a mark at Manchester City and will not be taking his foot of the gas after signing a new deal as he sets his sets on playing in the Premier League.

The City goalkeeper is currently out on loan for the season with League One side Bolton Wanderers. He is part of an undefeated Whites side and has kept two clean sheets in three matches so far this campaign.

Highly rated Trafford is back at the Whites following a successful spell at the University of Bolton Stadium in the second half of last campaign. He was part of a Bolton side which lost just three games during an impressive run of form in the second portion of last season.

Trafford has put pen to paper on a new long term contract at Pep Guardiola's side this summer. The 19-year-old is now tied to the Etihad Stadium club until the summer of 2027 and is clearly seen as a part of the Premier League champions' future.

The stopper knows he has a chance to make it at City but believes only he can make it happen. He has vowed to not let up after agreeing his new deal as he aims to play in the Premier League one day and keep going full tilt with Bolton this season.

He said: “I have a chance but it only comes from myself. I could take my foot off the gas now that I have got a new contract and just bob it, really.

"But, no, I want to keep going at my best because I want to play in the Premier League, which I think I will.”
