“It just hasn't worked out” – Journalist now tips Celtic summer exit for £18k-p/w “problem”

Celtic striker Albian Ajeti doesn’t have a ‘future’ at the club after enduring another difficult season, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.

The 25-year-old arrived at Parkhead in August 2020 after completing a £5 million move from West Ham United, but his time at the club has not gone to plan since.

Ajeti established a solid reputation for himself across Europe after registering 43 goals and 21 assists in 96 appearances across all competitions for boyhood club FC Basel.

The forward also fired his side to a league title and a Swiss Cup during his time at the St. Jakob-Park stadium, earning himself a switch to the Premier League.

O’Rourke believes Ajeti, who earns £18,000-per-week, is unlikely to get a ‘look in’ at Celtic given the level of competition and that it’s ‘probably best for both parties’ if he moves on this summer.

He told GiveMeSport: “I don’t think there’s any real future for him at Celtic
