Girl, 19, and boy, 18, dead with one fighting for life after horrific crash

Two teenagers have died and another is fighting for their life after a horrific car crash in West Yorkshire this morning.

The incident took place when an Audi A3 left the A6210 Ring Road in Leeds and crashed into a telegraph pole at 3.28am. The driver, a 22-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The victims include a 19-year-old girl as well as an 18-year-old boy, but they have not yet been formally identified. Police confirmed the tragedy took place this morning as they issued an appeal for information, Yorkshire Live reports.

The vehicle crashed into a telegraph pole at the junction with Parkside Road, Meanwood. The two passengers were pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, an 18-year-old man, is currently in hospital in critical condition.

Detectives are questioning the driver on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody. A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Police are appealing for information following a road traffic collision in Leeds in which two people died and one person was left critically injured.

"At 3.28am this morning, police were called to the collision on the A6120 Ring Road at the junction with Parkside Road, Meanwood. A white Audi A3 had left the westbound carriageway and collided with a telegraph pole.

"An 18-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were pronounced dead at the scene. Another passenger, an 18-year-old man, was taken to hospital and remains in a critical condition.
