Giovanni Pernice told 'enjoy' as he ignores BBC Strictly Come Dancing return with sun-soaked snaps

Giovanni Pernice has been told to 'enjoy' his latest break as the dancer was seen soaking up the sun amid his exit from Strictly Come Dancing. He would usually be preparing for his return to the ballroom at this time of the year.

However, it was confirmed back in June that Giovanni hadn't been invited back as the professional dancer line-up was confirmed ahead of the 2024 series, which begins in just a matter of days on September 14.

The Italian star was seemingly axed from the BBC One dance contest amid allegations of "threatening and abusive behaviour" towards his former celebrity partners.

He previously rejected the allegations and said he looks “forward to clearing my name”. Giovanni, 33, said in a statement on June 16 that he is "co-operating fully" with an ongoing BBC investigation and is looking forward to "clearing my name and establishing the truth".

While the report is still yet to be published, Giovanni appears to be taking some time out after spending the first half of the year touring the country in his own solo show and on a joint tour with Strictly judge Anton Du Beke.

Taking to Instagram, he shared a string of snaps of himself enjoying sunnier climes. He was seen shirtless as he perched on the edge of a boat as it travelled through clear blue waters, seemingly in his home country of Italy. "September," he simply captioned the post to which friend and former co-star Gemma Atkinson replied: "Enjoy."
