Gio faces sharpened Rangers daggers as fed-up Ibrox fans spot new shirt sponsor irony - Hotline
The leader in the blue corner is under increasing pressure with huge question marks over direction and competence.
That’s the opinion of the Hotline - and they’re not talking about Liz Truss despite the Prime Minister’s coat being on an increasingly shoogly peg at Number 10 just six weeks after moving in.
For a large portion of Rangers fans Gio an Bronckhorst ’s reign in the big house at Ibrox should be brought to an end after another underwhelming display in the 1-0 cup win over Dundee saw the team booed off. It’s not just the Dutchman in the firing line either with the Light Blues hierarchy also accused of failing in office. Neil Renton, Edinburgh, who said; “It’s little wonder that Rangers fans are booing the players. The team are about as convincing as Liz Truss is as Prime Minister.”
Jamie Thompson, Clydebank, blasted: “Enough is enough. It’s clear Van Bronkhurst’s tactics and players he signed are just not good enough. The current team and sporting director Ross Wilson are nowhere near good enough. The lack of concern from directors is a serious worry, they need to act now.”
Jimmy Mac, Glasgow, said: “Rangers were pathetic and were rightly booed off the park against a mediocre Championship Dundee team who towards the end could easily have won the game themselves. The board, Wilson and Van Bronkhorst must go, between them they have created the worse team I've ever seen in my lifetime, there is no skill, no quality, no stamina, no speed and no creativity on and off the ball.”
Lewis Fotheringham, Mount Ellon, said: “An underwhelming display from Rangers. The players had 'Zero% Mission' displayed on their shirts but I don't know if that's meant to be the sponsor or the team's overall motivation for this season.”
