Gillingham 1 Salford City 2: Reaction from assistant manager Richard Dobson after League 2 loss at Priestfield
Gillingham assistant boss Richard Dobson pointed to the stats as the story of the game against Salford City.
The visitors won 2-1 at Priestfield after converting their two shots on target, with the Gills managing to score only once from 14 shots, seven of which were on target.

Salford went 2-0 up through Daniel Udoh and Kallum Cesay, goals scored in between a missed penalty from Bradley Dack, and before Josh Andrews scored for the Gills later in the opening half.
“We gave ourselves a little bit too much to do, having conceded the early goals in the game,” Dobson admitted.
“Something that we highlighted would be a strength of theirs and so it was. I'm a little bit disappointed that we didn't react to that quicker, Cesay, in particular coming through midfield.
“In terms of chances throughout the game, we've created plenty again. Obviously, the missed penalty was a big turning point, but they had two shots on target and scored two goals and we've had seven and scored one and that's really the story of the game.”
The Gills - who lost goalkeeper Glenn Morris to injury early on - had plenty of opportunities in the second half with Josh Andrews having a header cleared off the line and the visiting keeper saving well from Dack but it wasn’t to be.
Dobson said: “We've put the ball in good areas. Our front three, the way we set them up was designed to overpower them.
“It looked a bit scrappy at times, but between the three of them, they made it work.
“We got behind them, we got crosses in the box, we got people on the end of it.
“I think it's a brilliant clearance for the one off the line, and their keeper made a couple of really good saves.
