Gillingham manager Gareth Ainsworth prepares for the visit of Crawley Town in League 2

Gillingham manager Gareth Ainsworth won’t be reading anything into the league table ahead of Crawley Town’s weekend visit.

Scott Lindsey’s side may have struggled in the opening few months of the season, having been relegated from the division above during the last campaign, but they’ve won their last two in the league and Ainsworth sees plenty of quality in the West Sussex side.

“But, we’re back at home, it’s my first league game back at home [since the heart operation]. I’m sure the place will be rocking, and I’m sure Crawley will bring a few from just around the corner, and it will be an interesting one.

“I expect the boys to step up and have the momentum they had from that last 20 minutes [at Bristol Rovers on Saturday], which was just tremendous, and hopefully we can win the game.”
