‘Gift Orban is a fast striker with good depth’

The Sporting Director of the German Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, Andreas Schicker, has explained why they opted for Gift Orban despite having numerous attackers.

The club announced the arrival of the Nigerian International on Thursday, and Orban will stay until 2029.

“In Gift Orban, we have found exactly the fast striker with good depth that we were looking for,” Andreas Schicker stated.

“Gift has repeatedly demonstrated his goal threat and his joy of playing in his previous po
sitions, so we are convinced that his skills will give our team greater variability in attack,” he added.

Orban moved from Belgian first-division club KAA Gent to Olympique Lyon in France in January 2024.
