Brown Ideye sad over influx of NPFL players to ‘unknown’ countries
Former Super Eagles player, Brown Ideye, is not happy over the recent transfers of NPFL players to countries that are relatively unknown in football business.
Ideye, a member of the all-conquering Super Eagles squad that won the AFCON title in 2013 in South Africa has just returned to the NPFL. He joined Enyimba of Aba a few days ago.
Ideye lamented the frequent movement of Nigerian players to ‘unknown’ countries, just as he put the blame on football agents for shipping out the youngsters to lowly rated clubs.
According to BSNSports.com.ng, the duo of Ismail Sodiq and Deputy Echeta recently secured moves outside the country to relatively ‘unknown’ countries.
“It is sad how all these agents ship out our young stars to start their careers in relatively unknown countries. Are the agents thinking of the future of the players?
“It is better to start in a second-division club in France, Spain or Germany where you can easily be seen by other top clubs than take your career to clubs that are not known,” Ideye stated.
