Giant bee is projected into sky over Manchester city centre
A giant bee was projected into the sky over Manchester city centre on Monday night (September 18). The dazzling display shone onto the clouds over the Castlefield area.
It is thought the projection marked the launch of the new Bee Network buses that will start running in parts of the region from September 24 and the launch of the new travel app and website.
Resharing a video that was posted to X, the Bee Network wrote: "The sky is the limit for the #BeeNetwork. Anyone else spot this above Castlefield tonight?"

The projection marks the move for bus services to fall under local control in Bolton, Wigan, and parts of Bury, Salford and Manchester for the first time in 40 years.
Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) has also launched a new Bee Network app and website for customers to continue planning their journeys around the region.
The Bee Network is Greater Manchester’s plan for an integrated London-style transport system with more simplified, integrated fares which will see bus routes, frequencies and prices set locally.
