‘Get your chequebook out!’ – Tyson Fury reacts to Oleksandr Usyk’s win over Anthony Joshua with message for both fighters
Tyson Fury has suggested he will come out of retirement and fight Oleksandr Usyk, declaring ‘The Gypsy King is here forever’.
Usyk turned in another boxing masterclass to defeat Anthony Joshua for a second time in their rematch in Saudi Arabia on Saturday night. A split decision win saw him retain the IBF, WBA and WBO titles, adding The Ring Magazine title to his collection after it was recently vacated by Fury.
On the day of his 34th birthday last week, Fury once again said he was retired from boxing, insisting it was a final decision after ‘long, hard conversations’ over his future.
But after delivering a blunt assessment of Usyk and Joshua’s showdown, the WBC champion signalled his intent to fight the winner.
‘After watching that, both of them were s***e,’ Fury said in an audio recording shared on Twitter. ‘It was one of the worst heavyweight title fights I’ve ever seen. It was bulls***. It was f***ing s****. I would annihilate both on the same night. Get your chequebook out. Because The Gypsy King is here to stay forever.’
Having seen off an improved Joshua, Usyk addressed the chances of meeting Fury in an undisputed heavyweight title clash in his post-fight interview.
And while the 35-year-old expects Fury to return to the ring, he insisted he will retire himself if the fight is not made.

I’m convinced that he wants to fight me,” Usyk told Sky Sports through a translator. ‘I want to fight him and if I’m not fighting Tyson Fury, I’m not fighting at all.’
In an interview with DAZN, Usyk added: Hey Tyson, back in ring please!’
