Germany team to face Scotland 'revealed' but Euro 2024 leak sees 2 major fears spill out

Julian Nagelsmann has reportedly already named his team - with the Germany boss sticking by goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.

The Bayern Munich shot-stopper has made some high profile errors since returning from a serious injury sustained in a skiing accident with calls for the 36-year-old to be dropped and Barcelona’s Marc-Andre ter Stegen to take his place between the sticks for the opener.

But Nagelsmann is standing firm with claims he has already settled on his XI to take on Steve Clarke’s Scotland in the Allianz Arena, Neuer’s home stadium, in the Euro 2024 and Group A opener on Friday night. However, the German media are already asking if it’s a move that could BACKFIRE in Bavaria, with out of form Ilkay Gundogan another they have concerns over.

In a report in newspaper Bild, under the headline ‘Hopefully this won’t backfire on Nagelsmann’ they make the point that if Neuer does have another cock-up, Germany have never changed their keeper mid-tournament. They say: “Neuer, who has recently made inexplicable mistakes, was the best goalkeeper in the world for around 15 years. Nagelsmann declared him the undisputed No. 1 back in March, although the Bayern star had not played an international match for 16 months at that point due to his broken leg.

“And if you bring in a five-time world champion goalkeeper, then he has to play. No ifs and buts. There's no room for discussion. But what if Manuel Neuer - which we hope doesn't happen - makes a mistake during the European Championship? The German national team has never changed goalkeepers during a tournament.

"The second possible problem case is Ilkay Gundogan (33). Hansi Flick (59) made him captain, Nagelsmann confirmed the decision as soon as he took office. The same applies
