George Michael fans praise 'most iconic toilet' with late star's hits and disco lights

A trip to the lavatory at Sussex's LG Cafe in Arundel presented an unexpected surprise for a female TikTok user, who discovered her favourite pop star had been celebrated in an unlikely space.

The toilet was transformed into a shrine honouring the late George Michael, much to her delight. She shared in a video on TikTok: "The most iconic toilet ever. I think George Michael would have loved it."

The viral video, which garnered nearly one million views, initially shows a door adorned with images of the former Wham! singer who died in 2016 aged 53. Inside, the walls reveal an assortment of newspaper and magazine clippings featuring the Club Tropicana crooner.

Boasting a soundtrack of George Michael hits and disco lights reflecting off the room, this toilet can only be seen as downright legendary. "The song changes every time you go in!" exclaimed the woman enthusiastically.

Several TikTok commentators professed that a visit to this cafe might result in them spending "all night" in the toilet. One admirer expressed: "I need to go there! How awesome is this?!"

Another jestingly acknowledged: "I simply would not leave this toilet all night!" A third agreed: "Omg I would just spend all night in the loo."

A fourth commended: "This is so amazing! I love George. I'd be in there all night dancing."

Many fans have suggested that George's track 'Outside' should be played on repeat, given that he wrote it in response to an incident where he was caught in a public toilet with another man.

This event, which happened before he publicly came out, resulted in his arrest in California in 1998. The music video for 'Outside', released later that year, humorously referenced the incident.
