The special occasion for characters is also great for players, as they sometimes get the opportunity to obtain free items in the game.

Players also get text messages from the birthday girl or boy on the day, with special consumables and gifts included. Although, not all characters send out these messages to players in-game.

It’s worth noting that at this time Aloy does not have her own personalized birthday text/email that is sent to players. This could change for the crossover Horizon Forbidden West character, but it is not likely to any time soon.

When players logged into the game during Xiao’s birthday back in 2021, they received a personalised birthday message that contained ten crystal flies and Xiao’s own special dish called Sweet Dream.

The only other way to get Sweet Dream in the game is to get Xiao to cook it, so this is a good way to get a hold of it without having to do much work!

It’s worth bearing in mind that Sweet Dream is an ATK boost dish that will increase party members’ attacks by 114 during the following 300 seconds after using it.

It is likely that players will get the same offering in 2022!

Diluc also sent a birthday message to players back in 2021, and we expect that will be the case again this year.
