GCSE results 2024: Live results, reaction and grade boundaries across Wales as pupils get their grades

The hard work is over and now the all important results are coming in as pupils collect their GCSE results today. Grades have dipped slightly as exams returning to pre-pandemic arrangements with no extra support this summer. See the full breakdown of results here.

Last week saw an overall dip in grades and top grades when A-level results were announced and the same is expected with today's GCSEs. You can read all about last week's A level results here.

The exam boards have all no published their grade boundaries for this year's exams, which you can find details of here.

Regulator Qualifications Wales and exam board WJEC gave schools and students advance warning they were returning exam systems to "normal" and are reining back on what was seen as grade inflation during Covid. All exams were cancelled in 2020 and 2021 and grades awarded on teacher assessment and previous work, while exams were sat in 2023 and 2024 but with advance warning of topics to revise, and other support.
