Gary Neville makes 'unfair' Erling Haaland admission at Man City with Ballon D’Or prediction

Gary Neville has suggested that Erling Haaland's spectacular Manchester City form has been 'unfair', backing the striker to become 'the best player in the world' and win the Ballon d’Or.

The Norwegian attacker signed for Pep Guardiola 's side from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, and has made an incredible start to life at the Etihad Stadium. Haaland has registered 10 goals and one assist in six Premier League matches already this season — including two hat-tricks.

Haaland is averaging a goal every 49 minutes this campaign and has only failed to score in one of City's opening six matches, with the Norwegian hitting three against Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest.

Examining the 22-year-old's seamless adaptation to the demands of Premier League football, Neville has claimed that his presence in the Man City team is not fair on the rest of the teams in the division, while comparing Haaland to infamous spy villain Jaws.

Speaking on his own podcast, the former United defender said: "Erling Haaland is... it just looks a bit unfair. I remember when I watched James Bond films when I was younger and there was the character Jaws, who was about 7ft 2in.

"He used to just pick people up and chuck them on the floor, and it's a little bit like that when you watch Haaland against strong centre-backs. You think, 'wow, he's just unplayable — how do you even cope with him in the box?'.
