Gary Neville delivers seven-word message that most Manchester United fans will agree with
Former Manchester United captain Gary Neville was massively impressed with Erik ten Hag's team after they progressed to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night.
United started the game on the front foot and were rewarded on 21 minutes as a returning Alejandro Garnacho slid home to steer the Reds ahead. Shortly afterwards, Ten Hag's men had doubled their advantage.
A leaping Casemiro header left Sam Johnstone with little chance in the Crystal Palace goal. The game was put beyond doubt following the interval as Anthony Martial expertly fired in a third from a tight angle at the back post to send United into the next round.

After breaking their losing streak at the weekend against Burnley, United's confidence will be high after dispatching Palace so comfortably in the League Cup. One pundit who was particularly pleased with the result was Neville.
At half-time, the ex-United defender took to X to make a confident declaration. He posted: "The best United have played all season," accompanied with an arms raised emoji.
Following defeats to Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Brighton and Hove Albion and Bayern Munich, as well as less-than-comfortable victories over Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest, it is hard to argue with Neville's assessment of the performance. However, Ten Hag will be keen to ensure this is not another false dawn for this team.
United take on Roy Hodgson's side again on Saturday but this time in the Premier League. Currently, United sit ninth, nine points off leaders Manchester City and five off the Champions League spots.
