Gary Neville clashes with Virgil van Dijk on Arne Slot's new rule that Liverpool star loves
Gary Neville dislikes Arne Slot's Liverpool change allowing players to stay in their own houses before a home match - something Virgil van Dijk endorses.
Slot, who took charge at Anfield last summer, has led his side to a six-point lead atop the Premier League standings, succumbing to just one defeat thus far. Moreover, Manchester United's bitter rivals have maintained an unbeaten record in the Champions League.
Though the Dutchman hasn't brought widespread change with him from Feyenoord, one decision, to allow players to stay at their own houses before a home match, has received the approval of skipper Van Dijk. Yet, former United captain Neville, who made over 600 appearances for the Red Devils, is not sold on this strategy.

In conversation with former team-mate Roy Keane on Stick to Football last year, Neville stated: "We loved it. We liked it [staying in a hotel Friday night]. Switch on – everyone getting sleep, no one's got kid problems, crying."
Van Dijk, conversely, when discussing Slot's impressive start at Liverpool, suggested he views this change to matchday preparation differently. "It's everyone's own preference, but it's the rules now," he told the Mirror.
"Personally, I like to sleep in my own bed, be with my family, and so it works out quite well. But, what we did in the past worked out quite well, too, as we've been very successful in terms of winning.
