Gary Neville came out swinging when Carragher said Rashford isn't good enough for Man Utd

The less said about Marcus Rashford’s 2021/22 season at Manchester United, the better.

In the previous campaign, Rashford was pretty deadly, finishing with 11 goals and 11 assists to his name in Premier League action.

But this time around, the England international has been woeful at best, despite returning to full fitness after undergoing surgery to fix a shoulder issue at the start of the season.

Rashford completed the full 90 minutes just three times in the Premier League, mustering only five goals and two assists in 32 appearances.

For a player with his undeniable talent, that’s a pretty shocking return.

Rashford’s performances, combined with questionable on-pitch body language, have resulted in many debating whether the 23-year-old is actually good enough to be a starter at United moving forward.

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes the striker is not at the level required to represent the Red Devils.

“He’s just not quite good enough for Manchester United, Marcus Rashford. That’s all it is,” Carragher said on the end of season edition of The Overlap. “That’s it, he’s not quite good enough for Manchester United. He’s Tottenham or Arsenal [level].”

Gary Neville was certainly not happy with his Sky Sports colleague’s claim. He hit back by saying: “He’s proven he’s good enough.”

Neville then stated that he “couldn’t let Carragher get away” with his Rashford claims.

“That’s like saying Divock Origi is not good enough for Liverpool, or Xherdan Shaqiri isn’t good enough for Liverpool,” Neville added.
