Gary Neville aims hilarious on-air dig at Manchester United amid Old Trafford concern

Manchester United were the subject of another joke on Monday evening after Liverpool's 3-3 draw at Aston Villa.

United have been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons on the back of Sunday's loss to Arsenal, first for their performance on the day and secondly for the post-match images and videos of water gushing inside Old Trafford due to a roofing issue.

Plenty of people made reference to the fact such scenes were a fitting tribute to a club which is currently in disarray in all areas as things continue to go from bad to worse during the current campaign.

Making light of the current state of the Red Devils' home on Monday night was Sky Sports host Dave Jones as he looked ahead to Wednesday's match involving Erik ten Hag's side and Newcastle United.

“Still to come in this football season, it is not done yet," began Jones. "Because on Tuesday we have Tottenham vs Manchester City at 7 o'clock then on Wednesday..." Interjecting at this point, Gary Neville said: "Water polo" prompting laughs from Jones and Jamie Carragher.

Ending this light-hearted exchange, Jones added: "Water polo at the Theatre of Streams. Manchester United, taking on Newcastle."
