Garnarcho starts — Manchester United fans pick two youngsters in line up they want vs Brentford

Manchester United will be looking to give the Old Trafford crowd something to celebrate in their final home game of the season this evening (Monday).

United face Brentford as the end of the season draws into view, with just two more games remaining after this evening’s fixture. Having been left disappointed with their offerings on plenty of occasions this season, the Old Trafford faithful will be eager to at least end a dismal campaign on a high.

United did at least manage to stop the rot somewhat with a 1-1 draw against Chelsea on Thursday, ensuring they didn’t make it three straight defeats. With injuries taking their toll, and senior players still leaving a lot to be desired with their performances, Ralf Rangnick has faced increasing calls to give some of the club’s Under-23s stars their opportunity.

The interim boss has so far resisted the urge to throw more of the club’s youngsters in from the start. But with United's top-four hopes now all-but gone though, fans are calling for a couple of academy stars to be given their chance.

Among the players selected in supporters’ most popular XI, via the MEN's widget, for this evening’s game is Alvaro Fernandez at left-back after making a name for himself in the club’s youth team. He replaces Alex Telles in an otherwise unchanged back four, lining up alongside Diogo Dalot, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof, with David de Gea taking his usual spot in goal.

The midfield has a very familiar look, with Fred back in the side alongside Scott McTominay and Bruno Fernandes. The Brazilian could be in line to make his return from injury, with Rangnick confirming he is in the running to feature
