Manchester United fans send overwhelming message of support to Alejandro Garnacho

Manchester United fans have sent an overwhelming message of support to Alejandro Garnacho ahead of the next step in his career.

It has been a breakout year for the 17-year-old who joined from Atletico Madrid's youth team set-up in 2020. The teenager has scored 15 goals in 34 matches across a range of age brackets this season and made his senior squad debut in a cameo against Chelsea in April.

He has also received recognition on the international stage having been called up to the Argentina senior squad for their last batch of World Cup qualifiers. Garnacho was pictured alongside Lionel Messi during that time and has also received advice from Cristiano Ronaldo while training with the Manchester United first team.

The Argentine also scored twice for United's U18s in their victory over Nottingham Forest last week to secure a historic 11th FA Youth Cup for the Reds. Now United fans have sent their biggest backing to the youngster yet.

When asked by MEN Sport which of United's academy players will have the biggest Old Trafford career, 66 per cent of 1,800 Reds fans chose Garnacho. In second place was Hannibal Mejbri with 17.5 per cent of the vote.

Honourable mentions were also given to Alvaro Fernandez, Shola Shoretire and Joe Hugill. Garnacho will be hoping to receive further senior minutes on Sunday during United's final game of the season at Crystal Palace.
