Gabriel response to Erling Haaland incident ridicules Arsenal reaction to Man City celebrations

Amid all the furore over Erling Haaland's antics against Arsenal, one opinion is probably more valid than anyone else's.

Haaland had got Manchester City's afternoon off to a good start by scoring his 100th goal for the club to give them the lead in their showdown with the Gunners. But after two Arsenal goals and a red card to Leandro Trossard, City penned their visitors back into their own box for 54 minutes until John Stones finally earned a deserved point with a 98th-minute goal.

As Stones wheeled off, Haaland collected the ball from inside the goal and threw it at the back of Gabriel's head, the Brazilian having pulled his shirt over his face in disappointment. Haaland then bowled over Thomas Partey at the restart before taking aim at Mikel Arteta and Gabriel Jesus after the game.

Arteta refused to comment on the Haaland and Gabriel incident, but pundits and plenty of Arsenal fans have called for Haaland to be punished retrospectively. It is understood no action will be taken by the FA or Premier League in regards to the incident.

And to sum up the over-the-top reaction, Gabriel was completely unfazed by the ball to the head, telling TNT Brazil: "I don't even remember this. It's normal, they were happy after scoring in the last minute. Our team did really well to resist. They were playing at home, so their duty was to win the match."
