Man City left Alan Shearer 'surprised' with three failings in draw with 10-man Arsenal

Alan Shearer believes Manchester City could have enhanced their attacking prowess in their 2-2 draw against Arsenal.

Despite a scare from Mikel Arteta's Gunners, Pep Guardiola's team remains undefeated in the Premier League as they aim to clinch the title for the fifth year running.

Erling Haaland predictably netted the first goal at eight minutes, but Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel turned the tables before Leandro Trossard was sent off. With an extra player, City finally penetrated Arsenal's solid defence - but it wasn't until the eighth minute of added time that John Stones hammered the ball into the net after a corner.

Shearer expressed surprise at seeing Guardiola's squad stumble in some areas despite the result, suggesting they lacked three key elements that could have given them an earlier advantage.

"It was brilliant game management, Shearer told BBC Sport. " Shearer told BBC Sport. "But, I was slightly surprised that City did not try to stretch them more, move the ball quicker or try to get more players in one-on-one situations," reports the Mirror.
