GAA round-up: London stun Mayo in the Air Dome

London produced a gritty display to pull off a shock 0-12 to 1-08 win against Mayo in their FBD League quarter-final clash at the University of Galway Connacht GAA Air Dome.

The Exiles will now face Roscommon in the semi-finals on Saturday night after a well-earned success.

Mayo manager Kevin McStay named seven debutants in his starting 15, with just three of the team that faced Dublin in last summer's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final getting the nod: Eoghan McLaughlin, Jordan Flynn and Tommy Conroy.

Rob Hennelly and Cillian O'Connor also started but they came unstuck against a hungry London outfit.

Mayo led by 0-06 to 0-05 at half-time, and though they were reeled in after the break, O'Connor's goal on the 50-minute mark nudged them ahead by a score.

However London - driven by the excellent Shay Rafter - kept plugging away to ultimately dig out a sweet victory.

Galway will meet Leitrim in the other semi-final.

Jim McGuinness made it two wins out of two in the Dr McKenna Cup as his Donegal side defeated Tyrone 0-15 to 1-13 at O'Neills Healy Park in Omagh.

Donegal were five points to the good at half-time, 0-09 to 0-04, but the home team reduced that deficit to just a point by the 45th minute as they reeled off four scores without reply.

It was nip and tuck until just before the hour mark when Ciaran Daly punched to the net to give Tyrone the lead, 1-10 to 0-12.

However Donegal produced a strong final ten minutes to take the victory.

In the same competition, Fermanagh edged past Antrim 1-10 to 1-09 in Ahoghill.

Benen Kelly found the net for Antrim in the 21st minute but Fermanagh took control and led by 1-06 to 1-02 at the break, with Lee Cullen bagging a goal on the stroke of half-time.
