GAA Congress 2024 gets underway in Newry
GAA Congress 2024 got underway tonight with Director General of the GAA Tom Ryan addressing delegates over the association's recent annual report.
Former GAA president Nickey Brennan addressed delegates and said it was important not to discommode older people in terms of accessing tickets, adding that "we were all going old" and should ensure that people of all ages should know how to get tickets to big matches.
Robert Frost from Clare supported Brennan’s comments.
Another former president, Sean Kelly, put forward an idea of replays being played on a Wednesday night for example if the counties involved agreed to such an event happening.
Niall Erskine of World GAA expressed his thanks to everyone who has promoted GAA internationally, especially over the last five years.
