Funeral details announced for beloved ex-BBC presenter and firefighter Beccy Barr

Details of the funeral for beloved Lancashire presenter-turned-firefighter Beccy Barr have been released. The 46-year-old, who was a popular figure on BBC North West Tonight before transitioning to a career as a firefighter in Blackburn, tragically passed away from cancer this week, her family said.

The news of her passing has led to an outpouring of tributes for the inspirational mum-of-one, with former colleagues from both her television and emergency services careers praising her courageous approach to life.

The funeral service is scheduled for next week, with arrangements now confirmed. For those unable to attend in person, a live stream will be made available, reports Lancs Live.

The service will take place at Beetham Hall Crematorium on Wednesday, August 7, at 11am. Live-streaming details can be obtained from funeral director Greg Hodgkinson.

After the service, Beccy's family will welcome friends and former colleagues to The Wheatsheaf in Beetham for light refreshments and an opportunity to share stories and memories.

Those wishing to attend the reception are asked to get in touch with the funeral director. Attendees of the service are invited to wear whatever they feel comfortable in, whether that be formal or casual attire.

Those wishing to make a charitable donation in memory of Beccy, to St. John's Hospice Lancaster where she spent her final days, and Cancer Research UK can do so through the funeral director.
