Fuming Gary Bowyer vents over Dundee title shocker as he asks players if 'in-house fighting' took place

Fizzing Dundee manager Gary Bowyer admits he was stunned by his side's dreary display against Partick Thistle that leaves them facing an uphill battle to escape the Championship.

And the Englishman admits he was left asking his players if there was any fallouts within the Dens Park dressing room as he struggled to comprehend the 3-1 defeat that leaves them four points behind league leaders Queen's Park with 10 games remaining. Home punters were left stewing and the former Blackpool manager made it abundantly clear the ire wasn't limited to the stands.

A clearly miffed, Bowyer, speaking after the defeat, said: “Partick deserved it and they were better than us. The performance came out of the blue. I asked the boys if something had happened at the weekend or some in-house fighting but they said no. It isn’t good enough and we told them that. The goals we conceded are atrocious. Hopefully it is just one of those days.”

Meanwhile, interim Partick Thistle boss Kris Doolan admitted he was chuffed after his players made it seven points out of nine in three Championship away games on his watch. He said: “I’m absolutely delighted and I am really proud of the players because this isn’t an easy place to come. They have been three huge away games.

"I’m really proud of the players because these are games that people will look at and expect you to drop points. But the boys have stood up to the task. “I haven’t thought about the future. We have a day off tomorrow and I will enjoy that. I’ll actually see my children so my wife will be happy about that!”
