Full-time tests continue to rack up for Binos as rampant Bairns await

The tests don’t get any easier for Stirling Albion as their gauntlet of full-time opponents continues with the visit of League One runaway leaders Falkirk to Forthbank tomorrow.

The Bairns are unbeaten in the league and enjoy a 17 point cushion over nearest challengers Hamilton at the top of the standings.

John McGlynn’s men will also come into the weekend’s encounter full of confidence after a late midweek win at Cove Rangers, with Calvin Miller’s strike ten minutes from time helping the Bairns rebound from a disappointing 1-1 home draw with Annan Athletic.

Meanwhile, for Darren Young’s Binos, it’s three games without defeat after Dale Carrick’s last gasp leveller at Palmerston secured a vital point which keeps Stirling in seventh place.

It takes Carrick’s goal tally for the league season to nine – with six of those goals coming since December 16.

The Queen of the South match followed up a 0-0 home draw with Hamilton last midweek, with a trip to Accies set to follow the Falkirk clash – meaning the Binos will have racked up four straight matches against full-time opposition.

Falkirk have enjoyed a perfect record in their three matches against Stirling so far this season, with a pair of comfortable wins at the Falkirk Stadium bookending a 2-1 win for the Bairns at Forthbank in October.

Ross MacIver had the visitors in front within five minutes in that clash, but Aaron Dunsmore equalised for Stirling on the stroke of half-time as the hosts dug deep.

But the Bairns showed off their league winning qualities as midfielder Brad Spencer slid home the winner from 12 yards late on.
