Full list of DWP Universal Credit cash boosts from today
The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has announced a series of significant changes to Universal Credit payments, which will affect the amount claimants receive.
These changes, effective from today (April 8), are due to an inflation-based increase in benefits allowances, as announced by Chancellor Jeremy Hunt. Universal Credit recipients will see a 6.7% increase in their payments, a rise that also applies to other benefits such as the personal independence payment, disability living allowance, and employment and support allowance.
In addition, those receiving the state pension will experience a substantial increase of 8.5%, equating to an extra £900 annually for full-rate claimants, reports Wales Online.

Universal Credit Childcare costs
If you're a working parent and pay for childcare, you could be eligible for some financial assistance through Universal Credit. This includes costs for holiday clubs, after-school clubs, and breakfast clubs.
However, if you live with a partner, both of you need to be working unless your partner is unable to care for your children.
From 8 April 2024, the maximum amount you can claim back each month for childcare costs will increase to £1,014.63 for one child (up from £951) and £1,739.37 for two or more children (up from £1,630). You can use a benefits calculator to estimate how much you might receive.
