Fulham's Marlon Fossey on Bolton Wanderers future, goal acrobatics and Gethin Jones partnership

Marlon Fossey is keeping his focus solely on his immediate future at Bolton Wanderers and putting out of his mind the possibilities of his future in the summer.

The 23-year-old defender joined Wanderers in the January transfer window on loan from Fulham for the rest of the campaign.

He has slotted straight into Ian Evatt's starting line-up and much of this has been spent as a right wing-back.

He has played nine games so far and been a revelation, catching the eye with his performance and marauding runs down the right flank and contributing to Wanderers in the final third.

He scored his first goal for Bolton over the weekend in the 3-2 win on the road over Oxford United.

Evatt has spoken that he would like to keep Fossey beyond his loan spell ending in the summer, with the defender's contract at Craven Cottage running out in the summer of 2023.

But Fossey says he is solely focused on the here and now as he believes his loan spell at Bolton has gone well so far.

He said: "Like I said before I like to try and keep my focus in the now and it seems to be working for me at the moment.

“It is always nice when you are appreciated, and the fans have been great, but I think it is important I keep looking at the next game, the short-term, and then my performances will benefit.

“I thank the gaffer for trusting me because many clubs didn’t before I came here.

“I am enjoying playing under him and playing in this team, there is a lot of quality here and it is a lot more enjoyable when you play with good players. I am loving it on and off the pitch.
