Front garden wall trashed after driver ploughs car straight into it

Emergency services descended on a Tameside street after a car was ploughed into a garden wall. Images from the scene show the brick wall left crumbled after the smash, which took place at around 12.30am this morning (August 25).

The incident took place on Moorside Street, in Droylsden. Eyewitnesses reported a large police presence in the area following the crash, with several police cars seen approaching the scene along with firefighters and paramedics.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) confirmed it attended alongside Greater Manchester Police and North West Ambulance Service (NWAS). One casualty, who had made his way out of the car, was treated at the scene.

A spokesperson for GMFRS said: “At around 12:30am this morning (Friday, August 25), firefighters were called to assist at the scene of a crash on Moorside Street in Droylsden. “One male casualty had self-rescued from the vehicle before firefighters arrived and was treated at the scene by colleagues from the NWAS. Firefighters assisted GMP to make the vehicle safe before leaving the scene at around 1am.”
