Friday's hour-by-hour weather forecast for every Greater Manchester borough as Storm Eunice hits

Greater Manchester is bracing for another burst of heavy winds as Storm Eunice wreaks havoc across the UK.

On Friday, the region will see wind gusts of up to 58mph as the second storm of the week hits.

An amber weather warning for wind is in place between 5am and 9pm, with the strongest winds expected at around lunchtime.

The worst effects of Storm Eunice are expected in the south west of the country, where a rare red 'danger to life' warning has been issued.

Wind speeds of up to 95mph are expected in some of the most exposed locations.

The Met Office has warned that flying debris could cause some danger, while damage to buildings and homes due to the strong winds is also likely.

People across the region are being urged not to travel unless it is necessary due to the danger posed by the storm.
