Fresh Bolton Wanderers League One prediction made after Ipswich Town opening day draw

The League One season officially began over the weekend and Bolton Wanderers got their first point on the board with a draw on the road to Ipswich Town.

Wanderers went ahead at Portman Road thanks to Aaron Morley's strike from the penalty spot, won by Liverpool loanee Conor Bradley. The Tractor Boys equalised thanks to a Lee Evans goal from a corner before half-time as the contest ended 1-1.

Though it is of course early days this season with just one game played, Wanderers have their first point of the new campaign on the board and sit 12th after the opening round of fixtures. They are sandwiched between Accrington Stanley and Exeter City.

Throughout the campaign, football statistics website FiveThirtyEight is forecasting how the League One table might finish after the results of every matchday, with the season reaching the climax of the regular season at the start of May before the play-offs.

Before a ball was kicked in anger, Wanderers had been tipped for a eighth placed finish and to miss out on the play-offs by a point. According to the predictions being updates following the first round of action, their final place has been revised.

Wanderers are now tipped to finish seventh this season, two points behind sixth placed Portsmouth after their draw on the road to the Tractor Boys. Pompey themselves had a 3-3 draw on the opening day of the campaign on the road to Sheffield Wednesday.
