Jannik Sinner dazzled under the floodlights as the eighth seed swatted aside Frenchman Alexandre Muller 6-1 6-4 6-1 to reach the second round where he will take on Daniel Altmaier.
1940 KVITOVA CRASHES OUT
Two times Grand Slam champion Petra Kvitova, the 10th seed, fell to a 6-3 6-4 defeat to Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, who claimed the biggest win of her career in the opening round.
1754 ALCARAZ SWATS ASIDE QUALIFIER COBOLLI
Carlos Alcaraz mowed down Italian qualifier Flavio Cobolli 6-0 6-2 7-5 to reach the Roland Garros second round in his first Grand Slam match since winning the U.S. Open last year.
1732 GARCIA SEES OFF WANG
Home favourite Caroline Garcia, the fifth seed, battled her way into the second round with a gritty 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 6-4 win over Wang Xiyu. She next faces
