Fred sends Manchester United fans message ahead of Glazers protests at Norwich fixture

Fred is confident Manchester United supporters will be 'alongside' the team for the remaining games of the season.

United have endured a miserable campaign, but last weekend's defeat to Everton was arguably a new low point. Everton have been relegation candidates for some time now and United looked gutless on the afternoon, which angered supporters.

United play Norwich on Saturday and fans have mobilised yet again to protest against the Glazers' ownership. The 1958 supporters group are organising a peaceful protest and they want fans to boycott the game for the opening 17 minutes.

Fred — who came off injured after half an hour against Everton, but could well be fit for Saturday's game — was asked about United's season ahead of the Norwich match and he sent a message to supporters.

"I know the fans wanted much more from this season," Fred told United's in-house media.

"They wanted us to go further in all competitions, the cups and the Champions League. We could have gone further, but I'm sure the fans will support us throughout, we know they're behind us. We'll aim to do our best, so they're always alongside us.

"We want them beside us, constantly shouting and celebrating every goal. I'm sure they'll be with us in the forthcoming games."
