Cristiano Ronaldo tells Manchester United fans what he wants next season

Cristiano Ronaldo has sent a passionate message to Manchester United fans demanding a return to former glories next season. Ronaldo grabbed his 24th goal of the campaign during a morale-boosting 3-0 win over Brentford in United's final home game of the season on Monday night.

United teammates Bruno Fernandes and Raphael Varane — the latter who scored his first goal for the club — were also on target and Ronaldo converted from the penalty spot. It means United can, technically, still finish in the top-four, but a Europa League berth remains infinitely more realistic than Champions League qualification.

After dropping a hint over his future in front of the Sky Sports cameras, Ronaldo promptly turned to social media to address suffering supporters who have endured a difficult season. United have now gone five years without winning any trophy, but there is restored hope and ambition moving forward.

Erik ten Hag is poised to take over as manager in the summer after his current title chase with Ajax. Meanwhile, there are set to be sweeping changes behind the scenes at Old Trafford as Ronaldo, 37, demands better from the collective in order to reward 'amazing' match-goers and other supporters.

Addressing his 436million followers on Instagram, the Portugal captain said: "Once again, great support from the stands. Let's take this opportunity of our last game of the season at Old Trafford to thank our amazing supporters, who endured a difficult season by our side and never abandoned us.

"Your support means the world to us and our goal is to become better everyday, so that we can achieve what we all want, glory for Man United."
