Fred picks favourite Manchester United match after making 100th Premier League appearance

Fred admits the stunning winner he scored against Crystal Palace ranks as a favourite Manchester United moment after passing 100 appearances in the Premier League. The 29-year-old brought up three figures during a recent draw with Leicester City before picking up a hip injury against Everton.

Having been forced off in the opening 45 minutes during the defeat to Frank Lampard's relegation-threatened side, Fred missed out on Saturday afternoon as Cristiano Ronaldo inspired United to victory over Norwich in a result that dragged them back into the top-four mix.

A stand-out performer since Ralf Rangnick took temporary charge, Fred was sorely missed in that game and faces a race against time to be fit to play Liverpool. It was, meanwhile, his jaw-dropping strike that got the ball rolling under Rangnick in his first match at the United helm in December.

Running the rule on his favourite United moments in an interview with MUFC media, Fred said: "That's tough as it's difficult to choose a specific game from 100 I have played in. A special game was this season against Crystal Palace, when we won 1-0.

"It was a great atmosphere, we won and I scored the winner. I think it was a stand-out game."

Fred added: "I also remember the derbies and beating [Manchester] City 2-1 away was a great game. There are a lot of historical games to remember. It's really important for my career to have reached 100 games."
