Fred makes promising Manchester United squad admission following Erik ten Hag arrival

Fred has revealed that Manchester United’s dressing room togetherness has grown since Erik ten Hag’s arrival and that the squad are “building something great”.

The club have had a very positive pre-season so far, comfortably beating Liverpool, Melbourne Victory and Crystal Palace before Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Aston Villa. Fred has played an instrumental role in every fixture.

He has started all four encounters and scored in the 4-0 demolition of Liverpool in Bangkok. The summer has seen the likes of Anthony Martial, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford reclaim their form under Ten Hag, with the trio scoring a combined eight goals.

United scored 13 times in total, conceding just four. This will have inevitably contributed to the good mood around camp ahead of their final two friendlies against Atletico Madrid in Norway on Saturday and Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford on Sunday.

Speaking to club media, Fred explained: “I believe the team spirit is getting stronger. We're working hard this pre-season so we can be flying when the league starts, that's the priority.

“We're building something great here, I hope it all works out over the season. Of course, there's a lot of quality with the young players, they've been impressing the manager as well.

“They've been great in training and in matches during this pre-season. I hope they can help us, the older players look to help them to settle into the team as well. Hopefully they can do great things with us in the future.”
