Frank Lampard set for second Everton interview after Vitor Pereira's Sky Sports outburst

Frank Lampard is set to be interviewed for a second time by Everton on Thursday, in another twist to the Merseyside club's managerial search.

Lampard will hold talks with the Everton hierarchy later on Thursday and remains under serious consideration to land the job at Goodison Park.

Everton have also spoken to former Porto and Olympiacos manager Vitor Pereira, in a move which has infuriated some of the club's supporters, but Lampard is firmly in the frame.

Lampard has been out of management for just over a year following his dismissal by Chelsea and is keen to make a return to the Premier League.

The former England international has also held talks with Crystal Palace, Aston Villa and Norwich since his departure from Chelsea, and Everton held their first interview with him last week.

Earlier this week there was graffiti seen at Goodison Park which appeared to back Lampard's appointment, with the words 'Pereira Out, Lampard In'.

Everton are looking for a new manager after sacking Rafael Benitez earlier this month following a dismal run of results and poor performances.

Farhad Moshiri, the Everton owner, has come under severe scrutiny during the appointment process and will hold further talks with Lampard on Thursday afternoon.

Pereira presented his CV and effectively recited his Everton job interview on Sky Sports News in an attempt to warm the affections of a hostile fanbase. The instant reaction to the unprecedented bid for such a sought after Premier League post, certainly if social media is used as an accurate measure, suggests it backfired horribly.
